Challenge Problems

NTRU Cryptosystems has announced a new set of challenge problems that are intended to stimulate interest in research on the NTRUEncrypt algorithm, and the cash prizes offered are intended as modest awards for the time and effort invested in that research.

The current challenge problems are based on the NTRUEncrypt algorithm at three different levels of security, N = 251, 347 and 503 (for more explanation of what these levels mean, see our Learning Center or our Technical Center). The total prize money available at each level is:

N = 251: $25,100
N = 347: $34,700
N = 503: $50,300

• A practice problem for NTRUEncrypt with N = 107. This value of N gives only short-term security. No prize is on offer for breaking this problem. A solution is provided.
