NTRU Releases the First Universal Security Product for All Platforms Relying on the Trusted Platform Module (TPM)
First-To-Market Universal TCG Software Stack (TSS) Enables Widespread Deployment of Trusted Computing Devices
BURLINGTON, MA: February 17, 2004 – NTRU, the information security experts, today announced the release of The NTRU Core TCG Software Stack (CTSS) Version 1.0. This product provides the essential core interface and security services framework for any application or platform that relies on the Trusted Platform Module (TPM). The NTRU CTSS is designed in accordance with Trusted Computing Group (TCG) specifications for a standard version 1.1 TSS and is enhanced with strong, standards compliant cryptographic libraries. The CTSS provides a set of software components that allow applications running under various operating systems to take advantage of the platform's 1.1b compliant TPM in a coordinated, consistent, and portable manner.
“Our customers have asked us for a flexible, secure and interoperable software module. By delivering our TSS product we are able to provide them a powerful enabling component to enhance their TCG development,” said Ed King, CEO of NTRU. “Our security analysts have state-of-the-art knowledge of Trusted Computing Group (TCG) concepts, systems and implementations. We have worked with founding members of the TCG to review and critique specifications, and are uniquely able to provide strong TCG compliant products.”
“Consumers will benefit from the widespread use of trusted computing applications,” said Kerry Maletsky, Business Unit Director for Atmel Corporation. “NTRU’s TSS will facilitate a broader acceptance of TCG by giving system architects more choices.”
“We are very pleased that NTRU is offering a TSS that can be used on different operating systems and different TPMs. This will help enable seamless integration of trusted computing applications across platforms,” said Jim Ward, chairman, Trusted Computing Group.
“The NTRU TSS and National's Trusted I/O initiative, which integrates the TPM into existing PC devices such as Super I/O, meets the unique requirements of companies who must quickly and efficiently deploy trusted computing applications across a wide variety of platforms,” said Todd D. Whitaker, director of strategic marketing for National Semiconductor’s Advanced PC division.
"Wave Systems, a leading vendor of TCG-compliant secure cross-platform computing software solutions for client and server applications, is excited to see NTRU offer a TCG-compliant TSS offering. The need for trusted computing continues to become more critical each day and we look forward to the NTRU product accelerating the standardized adoption of TCG technology across a broad array of computing platforms," said Brian Berger, executive vice president, sales and marketing, Wave Systems.
