NTRU Names Ed King as Vice President of Sales Embedded IP Industry Veteran Brings Over 16 Years of Experience Burlington, MA - October 16, 2001 - NTRU, providing the highest-performance security solutions for consumer devices and applications, today announced the addition of Ed King as vice president of sales. King joins NTRU with over 16 years of sales and marketing experience, including more than four years in the embedded microprocessor industry. "Ed's many years of embedded IP licensing experience and his stellar sales career demonstrate Ed's ability to build effective sales organizations in emerging technology companies. Ed will be responsible for our sales and licensing activities worldwide, while developing long-term strategic relationships with our global partners." Ed King joins NTRU from ARM, Inc., where he spent the last four years and most recently served as the vice president of worldwide sales. In this role, King managed the worldwide sales team, set the corporate sales strategy, and had overall responsibility for all IP negotiations and licensing of ARM's embedded processor technology to its worldwide semiconductor and OEM partners. During the severe economic conditions in the first half of 2001, ARM's revenues grew 56% over 2000. In 2000, ARM's revenues grew 62% over 1999. King was directly responsible for closing all licensing agreements, most recently with Intel Corporation, Lucent, and IBM. "Having licensed embedded products over the last four years, I have seen firsthand the need for embedded security solutions that enable users to have confidence using consumer products to their full potential," said King. King's earlier industry experience includes various executive sales management and marketing positions at Sony Corporation's US semiconductor headquarters in San Jose, California. As director of marketing at Sony, King had primary responsibility for two of Sony's largest customers, Apple Computer and Sun Microsystems. King has a Masters Degree in Global Technology Management from Pepperdine University and a BA in Management from the University of Massachusetts.
